Why use the Community Recycling Centres?

Problem waste dropped off at Community Recycling Centres will be reused, recycled or disposed of safely. By sorting your waste and taking it to your local centre, you will:

• Save money – it’s free!

• Reduce waste to landfill

• Support a safer and cleaner environment

Handle and transport your materials carefully and safely. Protect your vehicle by placing items on a protective sheet or tray in the boot to capture any leaks or breaks.

Stow until you can go

Storing and transporting your problem wastes

When you only have small items e.g. batteries or a small quantity of household problem waste to dispose of, it’s not always practical or convenient to visit your local CRC. Instead set up easy and safe storage at home and ‘stow until you can go’ to make the most of your next trip to the CRC.

Household batteries – collect@home for recycling

Australians use thousands of tonnes of batteries every year. Most will end up in landfill but they don’t have to!

Household batteries can be recycled by dropping them off for free at your local Community Recycling Centre, Community Recycling Station or at an Aldi Store.

Collect your batteries at home until you have enough to drop off for recycling. Contact your council to find out where you can get a reusable battery box or make up your own at home
