ACTION #2
Keep Out Soft Plastics…
to keep it coming ‘round
Let’s RECYCLE RIGHT by keeping soft plastics out of our recycling!
Soft plastics get caught in the machinery that sorts your recycling. Please put all soft plastics in your red lid bin.
Items include ALL plastic bags, even if they have a recycling symbol, are degradable or compostable, and other soft plastics such as plastic film, chip packets, bread bags and biscuit trays.
Alternatively, you can bag up your soft plastics and take them to your local Woolworths or Coles Supermarket for recycling through RedCycle Website
Please note that the Redcycle Program is currently on hold so for the time being, please place your soft plastics in the landfill bin. We thank you for your patience and we understand government, retailers and industry partners are working hard to ensure the system commences again.
Let’s not waste our efforts, keep your recycling contamination free to keep it coming ‘round.
Tip:
Still have too much plastic in your life?
Remember your re-useable bags when shopping, use re-useable bags for fruit and vegetables and avoid pre-wrapped fresh produce.
Want an alternative to clingwrap?
Try your hand at making beeswax wrappers. There are plenty of alternatives and you have the power to say no to plastic!
