Second Hand Saturday

Prolong the life of your unused or unwanted items by turning them into someone else’s treasure! Second Hand Saturday is the North Coast’s biggest day of garage sales, hosted by North East Waste and your local Council. Registering for this event enables participants to hold their own individual, group or street garage sale, on a regionally coordinated date which is then advertised for free across the North Coast.  Find out more about how you too can become part of the reuse revolution.

Have you taken a trip to your local tip shop yet? Tip shops rescue useable and working items destined for landfill and are often run by local charities. Find out where your local tip shop is and you may just discover some hidden treasures at the best prices in town!

Your local Council also operates tip shops or ‘salvage centres’ across the region. Why not pay a visit when you’re next in the area and have a browse. You might just find that special something that you can reuse, repair or recycle.
