The Love your Lunch Program tackles the challenges of reducing lunchbox food and packaging waste, healthy eating, reducing school waste and also food waste reduction amongst families. Funded through the NSW Government Love Food Hate Waste Program, Love Your Lunch focuses on Primary School aged students, empowering them to reduce the amount of food left uneaten in their lunchboxes.

The Love Your Lunch Program includes:

  • Demonstration of a lunch-waste audit. The class will explore and discuss the main lunchbox foods wasted and packaging waste;
  • Lunch-making demonstration. Our educators will demonstrate how to make a simple, easy-to-eat alternative to sandwiches – the Sandwich Sushi – inspiring students to get creative with lunches they can pack themselves.
  • Beeswax wrapper making workshop.  Each student will be guided in making their own waste-free lunch wrap to take home and use as an alternative to plastic wrap.
